Montemolino Castle is a medieval Manor House dating back to the 12th century. It is located on the top of a steep slope green hill, rising from the banks of river Tiber, just 7 km (4,35 mi) from Todi. From its position, it enjoys a unique view of charming scenery enlivened by towers, villages, and church steeples. The Castle is simply impressive and still has the distinguishing characteristic of an indomitable manner.
It is a private residence that keeps several distinguishing traits of historical value; an original fresco depicting The Virgin, St. Michel, and St. Christopher is in a lunette surmounting the round arch gate. The donjon dominates the houses against the village walls.
The castle’s portion that is offered for purchase is the main structure, for a total of 500 m² (7.320 ft²). It is reached by an imposing driveway; it has three floors in the main building and four in the tower.
- On the ground floor are a cellar, storage spaces, and a barn.
- On the first floor (“Piano Nobile”) there is a kitchen, a dining room, a living room, a studio, two bedrooms, and two bathrooms; in addition, there is a wonderful and handy terrace.
- The second floor is yet to be restored and features several panoramic rooms.
- The unique and charming tower needs to be restored.
The property has a park of 1,3ha (3,21ac) featuring several species of fully grown trees. It is possible to carry out a plan for a terraced garden and a panoramic swimming pool in this area.
